Boys State

The American Legion participates in sending candidates to Rider College every year for Boys State. The program has been in existence since the 1930's and is operated in every state except Hawaii. Candidates have the opportunity to attend Boys Nation if they are lucky enough to be selected by their peers.

Boys State teaches students about our Government and how it interacts with citizens at all levels of society.

Candidates are selected from students referred to the Legion by their Guidance Counselors in Ramapo and Indian Hills High School.

There is no cost to the candidate for attendance; you can't buy your way into the program! It is contingent on merit and ability.
