The American Legion commemorates the Memorial Day holiday with a parade and a ceremony in Veterans Park every year. This is always held on the Sunday before the Federal holiday (Monday).
May is for Poppies
During the month of May, it is not unusual to see Legionnaires standing outside stores and malls seeking donations with a tin can in one hand and offering poppies in return for your generosity.
Money raised through the Poppy Program is used to fund events at the various Veterans Homes and Veterans Charities throughout the region.
Please help our Veterans by donating to this worthy cause.
